meet the Lifestyle Method

Guess what I learned when I started this project? You can't actually "clog" an artery. What happens is that it gets so inflammed that it closes up. Turns out that chronic inflammation is an underlying issue to many of the health issues we hear so much about--heart attacks, brain fog, dementia, and I don't know what else. I'm no doctor but after working on this project I became much much more health concious.

Role: Product Owner & Developer
Application: V1: HTML, CSS, JS. V2: Bubble
Task: Build a website that helps users manage their chronic inflammation.
Result: Created a personalized content creation platform with administrative capabilities

what i did

My Roles: Product Manager. Developer.

Gathered Requirements

Often people don’t know exactly what they want. The product manager is in the unique position to make sure that the team is working on the right problem. On this project it took a lot of discussions, wireframes and the usual bit of trial and error to make sure we were building the right system.

Built Prototype

I coded the first version myself from scratch. The original site was basic HTML, CSS, Bootstrap 4 and JavaScript. I didn’t have a backend. Instead I brought JSON files into my HTML templates. Each recipe, workout and article had to have its own template but it was exactly what we needed to learn what the final version would look like.

Built Final Version

We settled on Bubble to build the website. I connected Facebook login, and Google login to make it easier for users to create an account. I built administrative capabilities so content creators could use forms to submit new recipes, workouts and articles about reducing inflammtion. I connected Braintree to handle our payments and subscription service. It’s only just launched but the company has acquired several users and have begun talks with Chiropractors as a augemented service offering.

the results

  • Personalization features with questionaire and plan creation algorithm.
  • Integrations with Braintree, Facebook authentication and Google authentication
  • Launched 2 mobile-friendly versions of the website on schedule and under budget.
